Are you getting a problem in streaming the videos from Arlo wireless camera? If yes, then follow the instructions mentioned below. The following instructions will work on all models like VMB3000, VMB4540, VMC5040, VMC4030, VMB5000, and other models.
First of all, to start with the troubleshooting of the camera, you must check the below-mentioned conditions:
- Signal interference if any from nearby devices.
- Camera out of range.
- A low battery in-camera.
Signal interference: If there is more than one wi-fi network in your vicinity or devices with multiple frequencies working, then chances of interference arise. This causes Arlo to stop streaming perfectly. You need to minimize all these obstructions and wireless devices emitted multiple frequencies while operating. This is especially required near the base or charging station. Place the camera at a minimum distance of 5 feet from the base source. If you follow these guidelines, the signal can easily transmit between the networking device and the Arlo camera.
Camera out of range: The camera should not be more than 9 feet away from the smart hub. If there is any metal object or concrete wall between the ceiling and base station, then minimize the distance between the devices. The camera should have 3 to 4 bars on the screen that indicates network strength. Cameras work even with 1 or 2 bars but there are chances of connectivity failure in-between due to fluctuations in the surroundings.
Low camera battery: Charge the battery of your camera after a regular interval of time or when it starts depleting fast. If the battery level is less than 2 bars, then connect it to the charger at once because it doesn’t provide the performance as it should be at that level.
How to troubleshoot night vision not working on the Arlo camera?
First of all, check if the Night vision feature is enabled on the camera or not. If you don’t know how to turn on this feature, then click on the link which says, ‘How to turn on night vision mode’ from the home page or contact experts.
- Check if the LEDs are working on the front of the camera or not. If there is RED light glowing, then it means night vision is enabled and infrared LEDs are on.
- The LEDs only glow at night.
Note: Arlo baby IR LED is much dimmer than the Arlo camera’s night vision LED. According to company officials, they believe those bright LEDs if installed can distract the babies and keep them awake. So, the Baby’s LED is almost invisible and still provides performance.
